Download Files We have noted a recurring download issue that some users have been facing. As far as we have been able to figure, this is an issue caused by the default security settings of the latest versions of Internet Explorer. The Pop-Blocker (Warning Bar) like download blocker is not accessible to many older versions of JAWS.If you know how to close the warning bar (pop-up blocker) for Internet Explorer, please do that and search the page. There is another link available on that page to re-start the download process. The other thing that you can do is to modify your security settings in the following manner.Go to Tools, select Internet Options, then go to the Security Tab and Click on the Custom Level Button. Go to the ActiveX Controls and Plug-ins header and look for "Automatic Prompting for ActiveX Controls" and Enable-On. Go further down to the Downloads settings and make sure that Automatic Prompting for Downloads is set as Enable-On.Once you take these steps, when you click on the download button, a dialog box will ask for the location where the file should be saved. You can specify the location on your hard-drive in the desired folder. You can then open the same file and read it.dosya formatları
On inclusive planet, a lot of material comes in the .pdf file format. PDFs have been around forever - I recall being 7 years old living in Hungary and my mom installing the acrobat pdf reader on my laptop, which, at the time, had no accessibility builtin at all. Well, I suppose in 11 years, companies do learn a lot. PDFs can be read quite accessibly with JAWS - and for that matter, most other screen readers. Of course, today we are going to focus on JAWS only - and the various commands you'll need to get started in using Adobe Acrobat. While there are some other freeware solutions out there, I do recommend acrobat because of the accessibility it has built in. If you don't have it already, download Adobe Acrobat from adobe.com - sadly it's quite a large download, so if you live in a country where dial-up is your only Internet source, the file will download in a few hours. The latest version, as of writing, is Acrobat Reader 9.2 . Once you have downloaded the file, install it by following the instructions and prompts provided. Installation is fairly simple and fast. Next, download a book from inclusive planet. Simply locate the shared file, press enter on it's link, and locate the table listing files by pressing the letter t on your keyboard. You should hear the link to the book and the file format should be said as PDF. Choose that link ; After this you will be taken to the download page. If your download does not start, simply click the link on the page to manually start it.At this point, Acrobat reader might pop up, and open the file in your web browser. (some have reported this). If that happens, you will need to close the window and open adobe Acrobat Reader 9 manually from start>programs or by typing in acrobat in the Windows vista/7 start menu search box. Just letting those know who did have the book open in their web browser. You can either open or save the file - it matters not. Either way, once the file has downloaded and you have opened it, Acrobat Reader should pop up with a license agreement. Accept it. For those who manually opened the reader, same goes: The agreement should pop up. This is where the setup comes in. If you already have installed Acrobat reader but haven't gone through the accessibility setup assistant wizard, I advise that you do so, since it will allow JAWS to interact with PDF files more intuitively. You can access it from the document menu. It's there always, so if you have canceled the wizard by accident the first time, you can access it there as well. The accessibility setup assistant is a very simple dialog. If other assistive technology (AT) software, such as Zoomtext, exist on your system, you can choose the "set all accessibility" option. Otherwise, "set options for screen readers" will make the wizard take less time to setup, since you don't have to choose screen magnification options. (if you did choose "set all accessibility options, I won't be going through the magnification portion of the assistant since it's outside the scope of JAWS). Choose next. While you could choose the "use recommended and skip setup" button, I will nevertheless go through each option listed in the dialogs, so that you know what is available to you. So click next. You will arrive in a window which has a few radio buttons: Infer reading order from document (recommended) Left-to-right, top-to-bottom reading order Use reading order in raw print stream. These buttons control how the document is read. While some PDFs are better with the "left-to-right" option, you will find that most don't require this option to be changed from what it is already on. Override the reading order in tagged documents Confirm before tagging documents This has to do with how Adobe handles PDF file tagging, a way for people to "mark" certain elements with in a .pdf file. It is very rare that someone would want to override tagging, so I'd just stick with the default setting - unless you know how to tag files for accessibility. Click next. The upcoming dialog is a bit complex, but fear not: (The following should be displayed): " Accessibility Setup Assistant, Screen 3 of 4 dialog. Because large documents can take a long time to read, you can choose whether your assistive technology should access just the visible pages, the entire document, or whether Adobe Reader should decide which seems best for each document. Only read the currently visible pages radio button checked, one of three. Read the entire document at once Radio button Not checked. For large documents, only read the currently visible pages Radio button not checked. Documents can be displayed a single page at a time, two pages at a time, or can scroll continuously. This affects how scrolling and next page operations work. 'Single page' is recommended for screen readers. checked Override Page Layout Style Page Layout: Single Page The document zoom controls the scaling of the page. 'Fit Page' scales the page so that the entire page is visible in the window and usually works best for screen readers and magnifiers. A numeric zoom factor can be set to scale the page between .0833 and 64 times actual size. not checked Override Document Zoom Document Zoom: Fit Page Cancel button. Previous button. Next button.” It's certainly a very interesting screen. Let's take a look: The radio buttons define how much of a pdf is read at once. If you choose "read the entire document at once", you won't have to hit control+pagedown to move from page to page in the book, however you might need to wait a few minutes to have the file process into a screen-reader friendly format by Acrobat. This is really a personal preference. You can also choose "for large documents, read the currently visible pages", which will read the first 50 pages of the book at once. If you choose this second option, a new edit field becomes available which you can access by hitting tab: It's called" minimum number of pages in a large document", and allows you to define what, exactly, is considered a "large document. (for example, if your book is 100 pages, you could put 100 in that box and whenever a book is over 100 pages, the first 50 will be processed.) More on all that a bit later, when we actually come to reading your book. :) And finally, screen 4 of 4 presents a few more options: Disable document auto-save Many times, when a document auto saves, the entire screen/document is refreshed, which means that some screen readers will jump back to the top. Since you are running Acrobat Reader, this is not useful - you can't edit pdfs with reader, you'd need the acrobat suite of applications. So really, unless you are running the adobe suite, you can ignore this option completely. Reopen documents to the last viewed page check box: Think of this as "bookmarking". Adobe will remember your place in the file and come back to that when you reopen it again. Useful if you don't want to lose your place in a book. :) Display PDF documents in the web browser check box Essentially, for those who had the earlier described problem of the book opening up in Internet explorer/Firefox, that option is the culprit. It is unchecked by default, however if you want to read the file within your browser, check it. Again, that's a preference of your choice :) Free will here.... Whew. That's all the setup contained. No more. You've now (hopefully) set up acrobat reader for use with JAWS. Now the fun stuff. Your book pdf should open after the wizard quits. If it doesn't, just open it again. You will be asked pretty much the "infer document reading" question from the second screen of the accessibility setup dialog. Press enter, unless you want to change this temporarily. If the book is a large document, it should pop up in a few seconds. If it is not, you will be told "processing page 1 of ..." and will hear percentages as the file is processed. This might take a few minutes depending on your computer speed. Once everything has loaded, however, you can begin to read by pressing insert+down arrow and using your standard JAWS keyboard commands. (they are in the JAWS help file!). One annoyance I personally can find is that when reading a large document, JAWS does not advance to the next page. For that, hit control+pagedown. This is why reading 50 pages at once might be a good idea for larger files. Alternatively, you can go to file>save as text to have the file save in a .txt format. This is very useful, as it allows you to read the book using notepad, or your default program that opens txt files. Note that all pictures will of course be lost. Finally, yes, a note on those pictures. Some PDF files will have "graphic " on the page. That's a picture. There might be pages or several pages which only have a graphic on them ; again, those are book pictures. Ok. After all that exhaustion, have fun reading your book - and enjoy the wonderful wonders of inclusive planet!sıkıştırılmış dosyalar
Why is it that people who use computers frequently compress files and folders? and what are the benefits of compressing and then decompressing them? As a matter of fact, people compress their files and/or folders for one of three basic reasons: 1. Decreases the size of the compressed material for faster download and/or upload. 2. Collecting all files of a folder in a single file for faster copying and/or archiving. 3. Creating self-extractive file that could be extracted (or decompressed) without the need to have a prior installation of a decompression tool. Now, when you deal with compressed files, you will find that there are common file types that all people know they are compressed files, such file types include: 7z .arc .arj .as .b64 .btoa .bz .cab .cpt .gz .hqx .iso .lha .lzh .mim .mme .pak .pf .rar .sea .sit .sitx .tar.gz .tbz .tbz2 .tgz .uu .uue .z .zip .zoo and much more. but still you may find more basic compressed file types such as: .zip, .7z, .rar, .cab. Anyway, you need a compression/decompression tool to be able to compress and/or decompress your files and folders, such tools like: winZip, winRar, Power archiver, 7-zip, and much more. note: •if you are using windows, you could easily compress a file or folder by just locating it and right click, or press the applications key, then go inside the "send to" sub menu, and press enter on the option "compressed (zipped) folder", hence, a new file with the extension .zip will be created in the same location carrying the same file or folder name. •You could also decompress this type of zipped folders, just by locating the zippped file, then applications key, then press enter on the extract item, and follow the prompts to decompress the required file/folder. Don't feel confused if you downloaded a file with a strange extension that when you press enter on it, the dialog of "open with..." appears, just keep a powerful compression tool installed on your system, and be sure it supports the file type you are dealing with.profil nasıl oluşturulur
